Aug 4 - 2:00 – 5:30
After breakfast we took a bus to Bucharest. We were sad to leave the Viking Kadlin. It was a fantastic cruise. Everyone would spend one night in Bucharest at the JW Marriott, some would fly home the next day while some went to Istanbul, Turkey for their post extension and we went on our Transylvania post extension.

lots of farmland
We arrived in Bucharest and got checked in at the JW Marriott and got settled in a bit before our City Tour that started at 2:00.
Palace of the Parliament was our first stop

Stavropoleos Monastery for an inside visit, also known as Stavropoleos Church. During the last century when the monastery was dissolved, is became an Eastern Orthodox monastery for nuns
We had a late lunch stop with entertainment.

stew and apple "pie" for dessert - all was delicious
We continued the walking tour
There was one guy on the tour that asked if he could quickly go into a souvenir store and the guide said "no, there wasn't time". The group said they would also like a stop. The guide agreed to give us 15 minutes. I popped in and bought a quick magnet in case we didn't get back down there.

Since it was our last night to spend with Tom & Cathy, we made plans to go for dinner at the Old Town and take in the Sound and Light Show at the Fountains. We grabbed an Uber and had a light dinner of crepes. (meh) We then walked to the fountains for the show.
