Can Tho, Vietnam – PM - Mekong Delta River Cruise – Day 2

March 22

After lunch the ship sailed through an area of the Mekong Delta barely touched by tourism to Hoang Dieu Harbor next to Can Tho city, known as Tay Do, the capital of the Mekong Delta.

on deck watching the traffic of the Mekong and the villages that we passed

We had an early dinner so we could visit Can Tho City for a tour of the town & the night market. We were given free time to explore on our own before returning to the ship. (more time to shop at the market would have been nice since we overnighted here, but we had to come and go as a group since we tendered in by Sampan) I did buy a pant skirt that I wore often on the trip.

After we returned, we had a lecture of Vietnam, Vietnam’s People, Culture & colonial History. Nam gave a great presentation.

Tomorrow, we continue our exploration of Can Tho.
